Born in Ahmadnagar, India (120 miles east of Bombay) in the early 40ties of the last century. He is the first born child of of a dutch Soldier and a british school teacher who had settled in India 5 years earlier. His parents considered themselves ‘Anglo-Indians’, and so too would their son, though he in fact spent the bulk of his life elsewhere. His great affection for India shaped many aspects of his professional career. He started as a newspaper journalist and helped his father to build up a very successful clothing manufacturing company in Bombay. With the the freedom of his financial independence he travelled the world and is now mostly known for his stories and travelling diaries from all corners of the globe.
